Joining a Battalion
Joining a battalion unlocks the competitive core of World War Online, including Capital Warfare, battalion rewards, and team-based gameplay.
Why Join a Battalion?

How to Join a Battalion
There are several ways to find and join a battalion:
Method 1: Global Chat
Post in the Global Chat that you're looking for a battalion:
- State your rank and experience level
- Mention your activity level
- Indicate what you're looking for in a battalion
Method 2: Accept an Invitation
Battalion Leaders and Captains can invite you directly:
- Check your notifications for invitations
- Review the battalion's profile before accepting
- Accept to immediately join
Method 3: Browse Available Battalions
Use the Mission Center to find battalions:
- Click "Join a Battalion" under your Missions
- Browse available battalions (your country and worldwide)
- Click "Request to Join" on battalions that interest you
- Wait for the Leader to accept your request
What to Look for in a Battalion
Activity Level
- Active battalions participate regularly in Capital Warfare
- Check when they last competed
- Look for battalions with consistent member activity
League Position
| League | What it Means |
|---|---|
| Gold (1-10) | Elite battalions, high expectations |
| Silver (11-20) | Competitive, established teams |
| Bronze (21-30) | Growing battalions, good for newer players |
| Iron (31+) | Building phase, learning together |
Battalion Size
- Full battalions (8 members) may have limited spots
- Smaller battalions might need more individual contribution
- Consider the balance of members from your country vs foreign
After Joining
Immediate Steps
- Introduce yourself in Battalion Chat
- Learn the battalion's strategy and expectations
- Position units near battalion operations
- Authorize army sharing in Settings (if comfortable)
Capital Warfare Timing
Important: If you join after Capital Warfare matchmaking:
- You cannot participate in the current warfare
- You can participate in the next warfare
- Move your armies away from active capitals (you can be attacked but cannot attack)
Battalion Roles
When you join, you start as a Member:

| Member | Participate in warfare, use battalion chat |
| Captain | Accept members, initiate warfare search |
| Leader | Full control including promoting/kicking |
Demonstrate your value to potentially earn promotion to Captain.
Changing Battalions
You can leave and join different battalions, but:
- Leaving mid-warfare removes your warfare access
- Your rank resets to Member in the new battalion
- Frequent changes may affect your reputation
